Hi! I'm AK & I'm a rising senior at Chapman University Dodge College of Film & Media Arts - with a major in Film & TV Production (Sound Design Emphasis) and minor in Disability Studies!
Like a lot of other Gen Z kids, I fell in love with making videos at an early age. By middle school, I knew my passion was in post production and began honing skills in editing and VFX, and began to do freelance editing. Coming into film school, I was sure my future was in picture editing. But soon, I realized I was always cutting picture to get to sound.
I took lead on sound on my first project in Fall 2024, and fell in love. By Spring 2025, I decided to go all in and changed my emphasis from editing to sound design. Since then, I've led post-sound on over 10 projects learning something new from each one. Recently, I’ve been diving into Dolby Atmos and exploring all of its creative possibilities, and, so far, have sound designed 3 projects in this immersive format.
Outside of film, I love being outdoors. I’ve been a competitive ski racer since I was young and currently compete as a para alpine ski racer on the North American circuit, with the goal of making the U.S. Ski Team for the 2030 Paralympic Games. I'm also really passionate inclusion and diversity. This tends to make its way into my life both through advocacy and my work as I believe film is one of the most powerful mediums we have to normalize experiences!
