over my winter break, i had the privilege to spend just about every moment i could skiing and gate training.

including:
-1 week in breckenridge, co for an adaptive race training camp
-a month at home (palisades tahoe) training with my home team
-2 weeks training with the national ability center’s high performance team in park city, ut
-AND my first fis race as a sit skier - where i managed a 4th place finish in slalom + a 6th in gs (…we’re gonna ignore the other dsq2 in sl and dnf1 in gs lol)

it’s been a lot. i’ve essentially reverted back to my U12 self, which, doesn’t exactly feel great a lot of the time. it’s so easy to fall into the hole of comparing myself to the racer i used to be just a few years ago.

but it’s also kinda been magical. it’s like getting to rewatch your favorite movie for the first time twice. not a lot of people have the opportunity to experience falling in love with their sport for a second time.

the intense deja vu of hitting the same milestones i hit as a kid is kind of unmatched. and the feeling hitting me that im doing something i thought was lost forever is enough to make it all worth it.

thank you again to everyone who helped make all this possible. thank you to @drinkbubblr @thehartford @moveunitedsport @victoriasvictoryfoundation @gohawkeyefoundation @nationalabilitycenter and to the individuals who supported my campaign to get this rig. you guys changed my life.

to go from thinking i would never be able to get back to gates to realizing i can take adaptive racing to a level i was never going to reach as a stand up racer is amazing. i can’t wait to see where this all takes me.

winter/spring 2024!!!!!!

this season gave me back something that for a while i thought was lost forever.

i can actually say, fr now, i can ski again!!!

when i got covid at the end of january it threw off everything - and i definitely didn’t think any good could come out of it. bc im immunocompromised recovery was very rough and i had to take a medical leave from school. but a HUGE silver lining was once i recovered getting to spend that time off of school relearning to ski.

when i was finally better enough to get back on the mountain in at the end of march, a blessing came in the form of a gigantic storm, extending the season to the end of may. another blessing came from @dynaccessltd who let me borrow their demo rig through the end of the season while i continued to fundraise to get my own. (im ALMOST there thanks to a grant from @gohawkeyefoundation and all of your help!!!!)

the progress i made was absolutely insane and i went from not being able to turn at the beginning of the season to being able to ski the entire mountain! i even got the chance to join @ teampalisadestahoe for spring SL training. it absolutely kicked my ass but it felt so good to be back. as many of you know i grew up on ski team and raced with palisades for a long time. getting back to racing has been my biggest goal through all of this and it finally feels obtainable. next season, over my school’s 6-week winter break i’m planning to re-join the palisades team and train 5 days a week. i’m also applying to a scholarship to go to a race camp in december specifically for adaptive skiers. things are looking up! we are SO BACK

i am endlessly grateful for all the support i received this season. i know next season is gonna be even better!!! ❄️🫶
